My take on the classic Gin Gimlet.

Gimlets are some of the easiest drinks to make. They follow the classic 2:1:1 ratio (spirit, citrus, syrup). If you're using fresh ingredients, it's hard to mess up.

This summer, we're blessed with the Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice Gin, a limited-edition small batch with orange, lemon zest, juniper berries, and lavender flavor notes. I'm a gin lover anyways, but I absolutely adore this one.

Gin Gimlet

2 oz. Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice Gin

1 oz. fresh-squeezed lime juice

1 oz. 2:1 simple syrup

2 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters

1 Tillen Farms Merry Maraschino Cherry

Add all but the cherry to your shaker.

Fill with ice and shake vigorously until the shaker is too cold to hold.

Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.

Add your maraschino cherry; stir in with the cherry syrup still on the fork.
